Conference Planning Committee Description
NAME: Conference Planning Committee (special committee)
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors via appointment from the President
STRUCTURE: The president appoints the chairperson of the Nominating Committee. The chair must have served at least one term on the board of directors. The chair will then appoint up to six committee members, subject to approval of the President. The Nominating Committee chair will be appointed for one year and the members may be reappointed yearly for no more than three years.
PURPOSE: To represent NANN values and members’ needs in planning, implementing and evaluating the education portion of the annual conference.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review conference feedback to determine topics for future programs.
- Select a range of topics relevant to the needs of most neonatal nurses including those in expanded roles.
- Committee members will make initial contacts with speakers.
- Work with staff on speaker contact information.
- Committee members will function as moderators for sessions and assist with the general activities of the conference as needed.
