Nominations Committee Description

 

REPORTS TO: Board of Directors via appointment from the President

STRUCTURE: The Nominating Committee is composed of six (6) voting members of the Association in good standing including the chair. The committee membership shall be representative geographically. In addition, it is desirable to have at least one staff nurse on the committee. Committee members shall serve for two years and terms shall be staggered so that there is continuity. The members are recommended by the chair and approved by the Board of Directors. The chair is a past president who is still actively involved in the organization and is appointed by the Board of Directors.

PURPOSE: To prepare and submit a slate of officers and directors-at-large with at least two nominations for each elective position if possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chair's Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates implementation of the call for nominations and ballot procedure with staff

2. Submits annual report to board.

Members' Responsibilities:

1. Participate in review of potential candidates and selection of nominees.

2. Call prospective candidates to obtain consent to serve for election. Call all candidates with results of election.
