Call for Election Nominations – NANN Board of Directors
Nominations for open positions on the 2010-2011 NANN Board will be accepted March 2-30, 2010. The nominee must be an RN involved in neonatal nursing care, be a NANN member for at least 3 years, and have a documented history of leadership in NANN.
Secretary/Treasurer: One 2-year position is open. Director-at-Large: One 2-year position is open. SIG Director-at-Large: One 2-year position is open. Staff Nurse Director-at-Large: One 2-year position is open. The position for a staff nurse Director-at-Large is new in 2010. A 2-year position will be on the ballot each year, so that beginning in 2011 two staff nurses will serve concurrently on the board, ensuring continuing representation of this membership demographic.

Position Descriptions
Secretary/Treasurer The Secretary/Treasurer will be responsible for ensuring that accurate minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors are properly recorded. The Secretary/ Treasurer will be responsible for ensuring that review and revision of the bylaws, policies and procedures, and association history occur as necessary. The Secretary/Treasurer will be in charge of the Association’s funds and financial records, will oversee the collection of member dues, and will be responsible for monitoring and disbursing of NANN funds and investments as approved by the Board of Directors. The Secretary/ Treasurer will report on the financial condition of the Association at board and membership meetings when called upon by the President, and will serve as the chair of the Finance Committee. Candidates must have served as a member of the Board of Directors, chapter officer, or chair of a NANN national committee prior to the election, and have experience in organizational and financial management. Term: The Secretary/Treasurer serves a two-year term. The Secretary/Treasurer may serve no more than two (2) two-year terms. Time Commitment: There are two in-person board meetings annually; one during the annual conference in the fall, and the mid-year board meeting in the winter. Additionally, there are between 4-6 board meetings held by conference call, each lasting about 90 minutes, and one Finance Committee conference call. Other participation may include conference calls of the Executive Committee and ad hoc assignments as needed. Director-at-Large (1 open position) Directors will supervise the affairs and policies of the association, which will be guided by recommendations of the association in accordance with the Bylaws. They will also liaise with committee chairs and task forces as assigned, to facilitate communication between members, committee chairpersons and the Board of Directors. Term: The Director-at-Large serves a two-year term. The Director-at-Large may serve no more than two (2) two-year terms. SIG Director-at-Large (1 open position) The SIG Director-at-Large coordinates the activities of the SIGs and SIG Facilitators, and promotes communication between the SIG Facilitators and the NANN Board. The SIG Director-at-Large may also liaise with committee chairs and task forces as assigned, to facilitate communication between members, committee chairpersons and the Board of Directors. Term: The SIG Director-at-Large serves a two-year term. The SIG Director-at-Large may serve no more than two (2) two-year terms. Time Commitment: There are two in-person board meetings annually; one during the annual conference in the fall, and the mid-year board meeting in the winter.
