- Requires 2-3 years experience as a RN in a Level III NICU
The NNP scope of practice may include intubation, chest thoracostomy placement, lumbar puncture, peripheral arterial puncture, placement of umbilical venous/arterial lines, needle aspiration, suprapubic bladder tap and PICC line placement.
NNP positions are full-time.

A 40 Bed Level III NICU is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist who will consult with and advises nurses, physicians, patients, families, and a variety of health care personnel regarding many aspects of pediatric/ neonatal patient care. This individual will set and evaluate standards of clinical nursing practice for the NICU department and communicate these standards to the nursing personnel. Will also assist the Unit Manager with research and evaluation of new equipment, concepts or trends in health care and how they are applied in the unit. Will conduct weekly interdisciplinary patient care conferences. Maintains current advanced practice certification in NICU nursing and NRP instructor status preferred.
Must have a current license to practice professional nursing and APN License in the State of Illinois. Must have a Master's Degree in Nursing as well as three to five (3-5) years experience working in a NICU environment. Possess teaching experience. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to all patients/family served. Demonstrate effective interpersonal /communication skills.
