The advocate and leading change agent for the neonatal nursing profession to optimize care for neonates and their families.

As first-line care providers, nurses profoundly influence the outcomes of neonatal care.  Through research and its translation into care at the bedside, nurses can have a direct impact on improving outcomes for their patients. NANN supports the research efforts of its members, and to that end has established a means for researchers to distribute research surveys.

Surveys are reviewed and approved by the NANN Research Committee, and IRB approvals are on file at the National office for each survey. See the attached application form for more information about having a research survey approved for distribution through NANN.

Enteral Tube Feeding Practices in the NICU

Optimal nutrition during the early neonatal period is essential for growth and development throughout infancy and into childhood. The aim of this survey is to better understand how neonatal clinicians currently manage the enteral (tube) feeding regimens of premature infants. There is little consensus on how to initiate and advance tube feedings to ensure optimal growth and development during the neonatal period and into childhood. Completing this survey will help the researcher better understand how tube feedings are currently managed for infants under 34 weeks gestation in NICUs around the United States. If you have any questions about the survey before you make a decision about responding, please contact the Principal Investigator of the Study: Katherine Gregory, PhD RN at katherine.gregory.2@bc.edu. Thank you for your participation.
