SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPs (SIGs)

SIG Director-at-Large

Participation in NANN's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) is open to all members belonging to the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN). Members may participate in as many SIG groups, as desired.

The SIGs offered are:

The purpose of the SIGs is to provide forums for specialized member interaction. NANN knows that peer-to-peer interaction is one of the most beneficial benefits of belonging to one's professional association. The SIGs allow members with like interests and issues to easily interact with each other to develop extended resource bases.

Each SIG has its own listserv. A listserv is a grouping of individuals who are linked together for shared electronic communication. By signing up for a particular SIG listserv, a NANN member is then able to post questions and/or share information with others on that listserv, as well as reply to questions that others in the group may post. To enroll in one or more SIG listservs, members need only go to the Web site's Members Only Page. After logging onto this page, members can access the various listserv sign-ups. Members have the option to join as many of the listservs as they would like.

There is also an opportunity for SIG members to interact face-to-face during NANN's educational meetings. Special Interest Group Networking Roundtables will be scheduled at NANN's Annual Conference. Complimentary continental breakfast will be provided and attendees will have the chance to meet with their colleagues in an informal setting to discuss shared issues and challenges. Please plan to be there and indicate your plans to attend when you complete your Conference registration form.

SIG Facilitators are appointed to oversee and moderate the groups' activities. Members can contact a SIG Facilitator via the SIG listservs or directly by mail, phone, fax or email. They welcome your participation and invite you to share ideas about the direction each Group could/should go in.
