Call for Election Nominations – NANNP Council

NANNP is looking for energetic team players with a strong sense of dedication to the future of advanced neonatal nursing to run for office. Nominations will be accepted March 2-30, 2010 for the 2010-2011 NANNP Council.

Open Positions
Districts 1, 2, and 4 each will have an open position in 2010. Territories of the NANNP Council districts have changed, and are listed below.
 
District 1 includes CT, DE, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, PR, RI, and VT.
District 2 includes DC, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN, VA, and WV.
District 4 includes KS, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD, and TX.
 
Council Member
NANNP Council members collaborate to manage the general affairs of NANNP. Duties may include overseeing programs, chairing projects, and serving as liaison to committees or task forces.

Qualifications
Nominees for office must:

  • be a NANNP member
  • be a NNP
  • have leadership experience in NANN, NANNP, or other professional associations (e.g., involvement at local, chapter, or national level, as an officer or a member of a board, a council, a committee, a task force, or an organizational liaison)
  • be involved in advanced neonatal nursing care (through clinical practice, education, research, management, or consulting).

Term: A NANNP Council Member serves a two-year term. A Council Member may serve no more than two (2) two-year terms.

Time Commitment: There are two in-person council meetings annually; one during the annual conference in the fall, and the mid-year board meeting in the winter. Additionally, there are four council meetings held by conference call each lasting about 90 minutes. Additional participation may include ad hoc assignments or conference calls when necessary.
